Manuscript Assessment

Need a fresh set of eyes on your manuscript before submitting it to an agent/publisher?
I will provide an in-depth report looking at the plot, characters, narrative, style, pacing and world-building of your manuscript.
The report will detail both the strengths and weaknesses of your manuscript, and will provide feedback and editorial advice on how you can improve on those weaknesses.
Manuscript assessments do not include full markup on the manuscript for fixing grammar, spelling, punctuation or typos (see Copy-Editing and Proofreading services).

Structural Editing

Looking for a structural/developmental edit on your manuscript?
As part of the structural edit, you will receive an in-depth report looking at the strengths and weaknesses of your manuscript, a chapter-by-chapter overview of recommendations for improvement of your story, as well as your manuscript with comments to help identify specific points for improvement.
Highly recommended for those looking to self-publish.
Structural edits do not include full markup on the manuscript for fixing grammar, spelling, punctuation or typos (see Copy-Editing and Proofreading services).

Copy-Editing and Proofreading

Tired of looking for errors in your grammar or punctuation? Let me handle that for you.
I provide copy-editing and proofreading services on your manuscript to help identify and correct grammatical, punctuation, spelling and typographical errors.
Copy-editing (also known as line editing) is a line-by-line language edit which will include suggestions for improvement in all areas of your manuscript.
Proofreading is a line-by-line check specifically for spelling, punctuation and typographical errors.

Beta Reading

Completed an early draft and looking for an outside set of eyes to go through your manuscript?
I can provide a beta read service, in which I will read your manuscript and provide you with a short report detailing various aspects of your manuscript.
A beta read is undertaken with a set of questions in mind that will help identify strengths and weaknesses of your manuscript. These would relate to plot, characters, consistency, continuity, dialogue and setting, to name a few.
This is a perfect start point for those looking to improve their early drafts to get closer to that publishing goal!
Beta reads include only a report outlining key strengths and weaknesses and do not include editorial advice.
